Hi y'all I'm River. This is a personal website (now OFFICIALLY self hosted), and it will come to hold my projects when I get around to adding them. Please note that this is still under heavy development, do not anticipate this layout to stay remotely the same.
I've been working on several worldbuilding projects which may find a home here at some point.
This project is slightly on hiatus, essentially it involves post-apocalypse and magic. Don't expect regular updates for the time being.
Not to be confused with Kyoto (the city in Japan), Kryoto is a worldbuilding project I began almost a decade ago. The name comes from "Cryo" as in the word for cold, although it's perhaps more apt to call it dreary. When I get around to it I'll upload my 26-page "novel" that took me years to finish.
Xion is a worldbuilding project created by me and Asta that involves both hyperbolic geopolitics and science fiction. This will be the home of the XF Wiki (currently hosted on Miraheze at XF.miraheze.org).
I have plenty of other projects that I am slowly working on, including my Mars project, which has a chapter out here.
I write reasonably often. When I actually finish something I'll post it here. Here's a list of my active projects:
Varus is a small town in the rural foothills of the driftless zone (a region of relatively hilly terrain in northwestern Illinois, Southwest Wisconsin, and Southeast Minnesota) that may not be quite as it seems.
It's cliche, it's vaguely horror, it's not meant to be particularly subversive. The first chapter is currently posted here.
Set during everyone's favorite time period: the not too-distant future, this pdf tells the story of a martian astronaut whose craft suffers some fatal issue that he miraculously survives. Read it here.
I also make music! And quite often, too. now have two EPs of music and a third on the way, put out on my bandcamp. I also have an "album" of what are perhaps best described as amateurish pseudo-retro non-chip tunes up on my youtube channel (subscribe for non-pope related content). I'm also in a band that I'm hoping to get off the ground soon.
